So a reader sent me a note the other day asking about those big, empty buses you can occassionally see along city streets. I sent his question to DART, and got a response. Take a look and let me know whether they’ve done a good job aswering.
“Dear Mike, I try to drive a small compact, fuel saving car to carry my family in as gas is so expensive and I contrast that to the large, empty DART bus( bus #8016) that comes by my street in Garland to pick up a single rider. I guess when it comes to taxpayers,’s money, money is no object. I wonder how many of these wasteful habits are engaged in by DART and is there no one at DART that monitors the efficiency of bus routes? What do you think?”
I wasn’t sure what I thought, but I sent over a question to DART’s senior spokesman and asked what how DART measures efficiency, and whether such stories as the reader above’s are common.
